In our efforts to continue to develop both players and coaches, we at OBSA are excited to announce that we have secured a top notch former collegiate and professional softball pitcher and coach, Nancy Evans, to conduct two Softball Pitching Clinics for OBSA here is Oswego on Saturday, April 19th.  She will conduct an OBSA In-House Coaches only pitching clinic geared towards assisting coaches in effectively coaches the mechanics of pitching in the early stages of a player’s development (youth softball).  The second clinic will be open to OBSA In-House Softball Players who desire to increase their knowledge of proper pitching mechanics and those who desire to begin learning how to pitch as a beginner.

Nancy took home a mountain of hardware as a top player in the game throughout her career from 1994-1998 at Arizona State University.  Notable among those was the 1998 Honda Softball Award as the National Player of the Year, first-team All-America honors for two consecutive years, Academic All-America honors, All-College World Series honors and College World Series Most Valuable Player.   As a player, she and her Wildcat teams won three national championships.  She finished her career with a record of 124-8, No. 1 on UA's chart and then No. 3 on the NCAA chart. It remains the best winning percentage in NCAA history.

Evans also played on the USA National team in 1997 when her team won the gold medal in the Pan Am Games. In 1998, she went on to play overseas in Italy where she played in the European Championships. In 1999, she went on to continue her professional career with the WPSL (Women's Professional Fastpitch League) as a member of the Tampa Bay Firestix and won a national championship.  Hillenbrand Stadium at the University of Arizona enshrined Evans' jersey No. 13 on the outfield fence, one of the handfuls of players so honored by the powerhouse collegiate softball program.
